Odor-neutral POCR tubes for professional detection dog training

Getxent Blank Tubes are odor-neutral polymer carriers for custom training setups, control samples and professional detection dog work. The patented Polymer Odor Capture and Release (POCR) technology allows the tubes to be impregnated with a suitable target odor and subsequently release the captured odor in a controlled manner.

Custom impregnation

Blank Tubes are supplied without target odor. For impregnation, they are stored with suitable reference material in a clean, airtight container. Direct contact with the target material should be avoided where practical. Impregnation duration influences the subsequent active-use period.

According to the manufacturer, longer impregnation supports correspondingly longer continuous odor release. Impregnated tubes should be stored separately in suitable glass vials between training sessions.

Blank controls for quality assurance

Unimpregnated tubes can be used as blank controls in Lineups, search areas and performance assessments. This helps determine whether the dog is responding to the intended target odor rather than the carrier or another unintended cue.

Handling

Clean tweezers, gloves, separate storage and clearly labeled containers help reduce cross-contamination. Do not store used or impregnated tubes together with blank tubes.
